Christmas carols will fill the air over the coming weeks as Moree and District Band and Serendipty Sings help spread festive cheer in the lead-up to Christmas.
The band and vocal group have scheduled a number of performances in Moree and surrounding villages to boost Christmas spirit within the community.
Moree and District Band held their first Christmas performance at Moree Hospital on Tuesday, December 4. They also performed during the Christmas in Moree late night shopping event on Thursday, November 29.
The next performance is set for 6.30pm on Friday night (December 7) at Amaroo Drive, followed by a set at the Pioneer Hotel in Boomi at 1pm on Sunday, December 9.
On Thursday, December 13, the band will perform at the Pally Pub at 7pm and will then feature at the Moree Community Carols Christmas at Twilight event at Ron Harborne Oval from 7pm.
There will be a performance on the corner of Boston and Albert streets at 6pm on Tuesday, December 18, before they make their way to Merindah Avenue to perform at 7pm.
Serendipity Sings will assist the band at these upcoming playouts, but will also present their own performances.
The all-female vocal group will perform in-store at Woolworths on Tuesday, December 11 at 5.30pm and again on Thursday, December 20 at 5.30pm.
They will sing at Fairview Retirement Village’s annual Christmas dinner on Wednesday, December 12 and will form a part of the Christmas at Twilight entertainment on Friday, December 14.
The group will then return to Fairview to perform at 6.30pm on Thursday, December 20.
While performing Christmas carols throughout Moree Plains Shire at this time of year is a long-held tradition of the Moree and District Band, this will be the first time Serendipty Sings will join in the festivities, having only been established since last year.
Residents in the vicinity of each of these locations are encouraged to come along and join in.
If you would like the band to perform Christmas carols in your street, get in touch with them through the Moree and District Band Facebook page.
