On Tuesday and Thursday nights in the lead-up to Christmas, the band has gotten together on various streets around Moree to play Christmas carols for the community.
So far they have played on the corner of Heber and Balo Street, Hassell Street, Carwee Street and Lucksall Street.
On Sunday, the band took a “trip to the suburbs” and played for the communities of Mungindi, Boomi and Garah.
Moree and District Band president Shirley Reynolds said it’s all about bringing Christmas cheer and spirit to our communities.
“We take our music to the local community and play for them,” she said. “We like to do it and people love us to come.”
Tonight, the band’s last scheduled performance before members go away, they will be playing in Amaroo Drive at 6.30pm and then Merindah Avenue at 7.15pm.
