About 30 children and 10 adults from Moree and surrounds took part in the summer dance workshop, hosted by Moree Academy of Dance and run by Ballet Workshops Australia as part of their Dancers for Drought initiative.
During the three days, the dancers participated in ballet, contemporary, character, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theatre classes, learning new skills and developing their techniques.
The workshop culminated in a free community dance concert on Wednesday afternoon, which saw family members pack into the Anglican Church Hall to see what their dancers had learnt over the three days.
At the end of the concert, certificates were handed out to all students, and awards were presented to some promising and hard-working students who showed passion, dedication and an eagerness to absorb everything they can to progress with their dancing.
Olivia Briggs and Vye Singleton won the Australian Ballet award and will enjoy a dancers day out in Sydney with an exclusive backstage experience at the Australian Ballet.
Alliyah Davison was awarded the opportunity to participate in a masterclass with Queensland Ballet and Gregory Pearse and Lucinda Devney received Bloch award packs.
Isabella Quinn and sisters Ruby and Agnes Tighe won the Verve Portrait package raffle prizes.
BWA's Laura Bailey said it was a top three days in Moree and BWA looks forward to returning again.
"We left Moree enthused, inspired and eager to return to continue to work with the dancers in Moree who are fortunate to be under the wonderful care of Chelsie Assef and Moree Academy of Dance," she said.
"BWA will definitely return on a regular basis and we look forward to seeing some familiar faces and some new ones.
"Thank you to everyone for welcoming us into the dance studio and community, we enjoyed our Moree dance workshop!"
