The event, to be held on March 23 to 24, will consist of a gathering at the Moree Services Club on Saturday night, followed by a 70s and 80s dress up dance party.
Attendees will then be invited to the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre for a social soak and chat on Sunday morning, with other items likely to be added to the agenda across the weekend.
The idea came about when event organiser Greg Mullens put forward the idea to the ‘Moree Pics n Bits’ Facebook group.
The group was created back in 2014 for old friends to reminisce and look at memories of Moree, and now has close to 4000 members.
Mr Mullens said the feedback he received about the idea was positive from the beginning.
“I came up with it, took it to our ‘Moree Pics n Bits’ Facebook page and they thought it was a great idea so we decided to run with it,” he said.
“We already have 100 confirmed attending and 200 maybes.”
Not only will it be a great opportunity for old friends to catch up, it’ll be a great event for the town as a whole.
“It will bring money to the town. Motels will be filled up. Cafes, restaurants, swimming pool will all be used,” Mr Mullens said.
The reunion is open to everyone. If you are interested in attending the event, you can RSVP through ‘Moree Pics n Bits’ Facebook page.
