Moree volunteer Madonna McInnes has been recognised for her valuable contribution to the Moree community recently, winning the Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Customer Service Appreciation Award for the month of August.
Madonna was nominated by Luanne Andrews for the tireless charity work she does with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, Moree Renal Unit committee and the Moree Hospital Auxiliary.
Madonna has been volunteering with the Guide Dogs for 13 years, the Renal Unit committee for three years and Moree Hospital Auxiliary for four years.
She said she loves giving back to the local community, as well as keeping in touch with friends and ex-customers since her retirement.
Although she wasn’t aware of the monthly award due to not being on Facebook, Madonna said she felt privileged to receive something like this.
For those who would like to support or donate to the charities that Madonna volunteers for, go to www.guidedogs.com.au, call 02 9412 9309 or Madonna personally, or purchase tickets in the local Mother’s Day and Christmas raffles. To support the Renal Unit, people can buy tickets in the meat raffles held at Moree Services Club every Wednesday night or contact Will Sabine or Lola Shearer.
Nominations are now open for the September award on the closed Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Facebook group.
