The celebrations will continue on Saturday with a public open day from 10am to 2pm which will feature plenty of fun, free activities for children and adults.
There will be kids’ activities and games, including collage, painting, a photobooth and face painting (for a gold coin) in the garden, while the adults can check out the latest exhibition inside.
There will be an exhibition tour with artist talks at 11am followed by an adult workshop with artist Michael Bullock. Workshop participants will create a collaborative work using simple drawing techniques, inspired by the textures of the gallery’s building.
Moree Plains Gallery director Vivien Clyne encourages everyone in the community, particularly families to come along for the free open day.
“It’s a good opportunity for people to experience the exhibition and play around with art in the gallery space,” she said.
“The open day will be a chance for people to come in and see what’s different.”
Upstairs there will be a scuba diving gothic horror film and art gift packs will be for sale.
A barbecue lunch and coffee cart will be available.
