Back in March, Miyay Birray sent out education packs for students who were home schooling, and now, thanks to funding from AbSec, they have been preparing self care kits to hand out to households in Moree and Mungindi.
"We targeted three different groups," Miyay Birray Youth Service CEO Darrel Smith said.
"We targeted obviously family groups, with a boys kit and a girls kit and then we looked at an elder's one and we also looked at a chronic care needs kit."

There are 150 kits that will be handed out to the community which contain a wide range of items including toothbrushes and toothpaste, first aid kit, chap stick, cards, pencils and paper for children and much more, donated by Byamee Homeless Support, Flourish Australia, Newspower, The University of Sydney, Hunter New England Health, GSK and Save the Children.
The packs also contain hand sanitiser gel that was made by staff and the children.
"There are a lot of people out there, that unless you watch the news every day, you didn't know what was happening," Mr Smith said.
"So I think it's good to go out and target some of those families and actually say these are what the current regulations are and this is some of the gear you need to be able to do that.
"It was really good timing. It came at around that stage where people were starting to relax their thoughts around COVID-19 so it's just a reminder for them that there's no cure for it or anything like that, to make sure that we keep it in our mind."
The packs also include two books and a bag donated by Big Sky Libraries.
"We've also done a membership form in there because they're looking at how they can deliver online and all that sort of stuff as well," Mr Smith said.
"The more people that can register with them, then families can access that without having to come to town."
With the funding, Miyay Birray staff were also able to undergo training around save COVID-19 practises and first aid.
Mr Smith said they are planning to hand out the packs across Moree and Mungindi throughout the next week.
