“It was a successful day. The markets were busy and there were a lot of people looking at the cars,” Moree Motor Enthusiast Club president Sonia Rowe said.
Now in its 12th year, the Motor Expo showcases classic cars, hot rods and a wide range of two-wheeler vehicles from all around the region.
“We had car clubs from our region come along, including the Tamworth area, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Inverell and Goondiwindi,” Ms Rowe said.

Lisette Mackay took home the most outstanding vehicle prize, with her 1983 Holden Commodore.
“It was a cream coloured commodore with nice timber accents inside,” Ms Rowe said.
A JAG club also made its way from Newcastle, to showcase eight cars. And as the cars were a hit with the people in Moree, so too was Moree a hit with the JAG club.
“The JAG club spoke about how they loved Moree and said they would be happy to come down next year.”
While there is no official figure on the number of people who passed through the markets and motor expo on the weekend, Ms Rowe is certain it was in the thousands.
“The crowd numbers looked to be the same that they were last year,” she said.
“The people loved the show and the markets. It was a very family-oriented day.”
While turnout looked to be the same, Ms Rowe admitted the number of car entries had dipped on previous years.
“Last year we got about 100 entries. This time there were about 70.”
She said the drop in numbers could be linked to the drought. Though, the dry conditions did nothing to hinder the community and their show of support for the show.
“I would like to thank our [Moree Motor Enthusiast Club] members who helped on the day, our sponsors and dealers and the visitors,” Ms Rowe said.
