A new Public Donations Policy and associated form has been released and applies to the application period from July to September 2018.
It includes some significant changes to ensure it is equitable, transparent, and promotes community collaboration.
General manager Lester Rodgers said the new application process has links to Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan, acknowledges in-kind or financial support from the organisation, and provides strict guidelines on accurately reporting on the acquittal of funds.
“We want to build relationships between council and the community, and increase the shire’s liveability and accessibility, so the new application process reflects these considerations; promoting greater participation in local activities and collaboration between committees and organisations,” he said.
“Applications will also be subject to better finalisation reporting and media promotion.”
Applications for the period from July – September are due by 5pm, June 15 and will be presented to the council at its meeting on July 12.
Copies of the new Public Donations Policy and application form are available at the Moree Community Library and Council offices at Moree, Boggabilla and Mungindi, by phoning the Executive Office on (02) 6757 3236, via email laura.colley@mpsc.nsw.gov.au, or at http://www.mpsc.nsw.gov.au/index.php/helping-you-access-information/donations-by-council
