National Families Week, which is held annually from May 15 to 21, aims to celebrate the vital role that families play in Australian society.
To celebrate the week, Moree Family Support, in partnership with a number of other community organisations, will be holding a family fun day at Cooee Park on Wednesday, May 16 from 10am to 2pm.
The day will feature a reptile show from Croc Encounters, a Drumbeat presentation, rock painting, a sensory corner, sand art, coloured hair spray and much more.
A barbecue and music will also be provided.
Attendees will have the chance to win a number of prizes as part of a lucky door prize. Tickets will be handed out on the day to anyone willing to fill out an anonymous survey on the services in Moree.
Moree Family Support community support worker Shane Smith said everyone is invited to this free event.
”National Families Week is a time to celebrate with family, make contact with extended family and friends and share in the enjoyment of family activities within the wider community,” he said.
“The family fun day will bring the community together at the newly-built Cooee Park in south Moree and aims to connect them with service providers that service the local community.”
