A celebrations of Mick’s life will be held next Wednesday, January 24 at Mary Brand Park.
Friends of the local father-of-two have been asked to gather at 10am wearing bright colours.
Before passing, Mick asked that in lieu of flowers a small donation is made for ‘a pay it forward’ fund.
The Colbrans will later pick another family going through a tough time to donate the funds to and help brighten their day in Mick’s honour.
The local father of two, who always had a smile on his face no matter what, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bowel cancer at the young age of 35.
A year later, he was informed cancer had spread to his liver and again underwent a number of treatments.
However, in 2016 doctors found cancerous cells in his lungs, which was deemed inoperable.
After the news spread, the Moree community banned together to raise money for the Colbrans to help them make the most of the time they had together as a family.
In just 24 hours $8000 had been donated to their ‘Mycause’ page from people all over the country.
