The 2017 Future Farmers Network (FFN) Annual General Meeting was held in Roma, Queensland on Thursday, November 16.
The key item of business for the 2017 AGM was the election of Directors to the FFN Board.
The 2017 AGM saw the retirement of FFN Treasurer, Angus Street, after four years as a director and two of these as treasurer.
Harry Wall also retired after two years as a director of FFN.
There were fourteen nominations for the vacated five positions.
Alex Ramsey was re-elected for a second term, as well as incoming directors, Christopher Young, Lachlan Sutton, Geoff Birchnell and Sarah Nolet.
“The four new directors fill skills gaps in agricultural technology, policy, governance and startups as well as bring a fresh outlook to the organisation,” outgoing FFN chair Dan Korff said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris, Lachlan, Geoff and Sarah to the Board and are looking forward to their contribution as we roll into our next strategic period.”
On Thursday, December 14, the FFN Board held the executive election process as each position was up for nomination.
The 2018 FFN Executive consists of:
- Megan Davies – FFN Chair
- Christopher Young – FFN Vice Chair
- Alex Ramsey – FFN Secretary
- Rohan Dunsdon – FFN Treasurer
“FFN has a bright future and I have high-hopes for the new FFN Board,” Mr Korff said.
“I believe the calibre of the board is first-class and I look forward to continue to provide my support and contribution stepping back into the director’s seat.
“I congratulate Megan Davies on being elected chair, I’m thrilled to see such energy and passion continue to drive the organisation.
“My personal thanks to outgoing treasurer, Angus Street and director, Harry Wall for their significant contributions to the governance and financial rigour of FFN during their time on the Board.
Current FFN Chair, Megan Davies, acknowledged the contribution to FFN by retiring directors and outgoing executives.
“The FFN Board recognises the significant contribution Dan Korff has made to the organisation,” she said.
“His skills and industry networks have been paramount to FFN’s success over the course of the last few years.
“The Board are driven and committed to taking the strong foundations of FFN forward in 2018 and continuing to empower, support and advocate for young people in Australian agriculture.”
