KAMILAROI and Anaiwan Elder, Steve “Dugan” Widders will welcome the Recognise relay to the New England, calling on the local communities to be part of the movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Constitution and remove racial discrimination.
The Journey to Recognition will stop in Moree today having travelled more than 30,000 kilometres.
It will give residents the chance to hear from campaigners about why fixing the constitution is the right thing to do.
The Moree community day will be hosted at the Dhiiyaan centre from 10am until 4pm. For more visit www.recognise.org.au
