The staff at Grace Lutheran Pre-School saw on Facebook that a rainbow hunt had been started in Moree, and they decided to join in.
"We're missing a lot of our preschool friends, with numbers low at the moment, so we decided to do something exciting," Grace Lutheran Pre-School service leader Megan Fleming said.
"The kids that are here painted a rainbow, which has been put outside our fence and we ask our families to paint a rainbow with their children to stick in their windows at home.
"When people drive past our fence, we ask that they honk their horns three times so that we know it's our friends.
"We hope it puts a smile on everyone's faces and shows there is a rainbow at the end of the tunnel."

Although a number of children are staying home from preschool at the moment, Ms Fleming said there's still plenty of things parents can do to keep children engaged and learning.
"We want them to still do things at home," she said.
"We did cooking yesterday at preschool and sent families the recipe so they could do it at home with their children and next week we're having our Easter hat parade and encouraging children at home to get involved.
"We encourage people to play with their kids and teach them life skills."
If other families are participating in the rainbow hunt, we'd love to see your photos. Take a photo of your children with their rainbow and send it to sophie.harris@moreechampion.com.au and we'll put together a gallery of rainbows.
