About 50 residents, along with up to 15 helpers, from Fairview Retirement Village enjoyed the luncheon, held in the dining room of Moree Golf Club on Monday, February 25.
Moree Golf Club and Moree Veterans Golf Club host the Fairview residents for a barbecue luncheon twice every year, usually for Christmas and Christmas in July.

Despite the earlier date, this year's lunch was no less special.
Moree Veterans Golf president Guy Roberts said the residents look forward to the event every year and particularly enjoy having barbecued meat which they don’t get very often.
"They loved the barbecue," he said.
"It was a great day and perfect weather. It's the best weather we've had for three months."
After lunch, about 15 residents were lucky enough to get a ride in golf carts and whizzed around the golf course.
The Moree Veterans golfers cooked the meat on the barbecue and took the residents for rides in the golf carts, while the lady golfers provided the salads and sweets for dessert.
