Ron Harborne Oval will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland, full of rides, games and activities for children and the young at heart, before Christmas carols fill the air at the fun-filled family event, to be held this Friday, December 14.
“It’s going to be a great night of celebrating the Christmas season as a town and community,” co-organiser Jason Poutawa from Moree Salvation Army said.
“It’s a good place to be on a Friday night.”
From 5pm, there will be plenty to keep the kids entertained including rides, a petting zoo, jumping castle, art and craft activities and more.
This year Moree PCYC, Moree Clontarf Academy, Moree Lifestyle Academy and Moree AFL development officer Anna Winter Moore have teamed up to run a number of sporting activities for children including laser tag, touch football and AFL.

There will also be a range of food and beverage stalls to suit all tastebuds.
The open-air carols concert will then get underway at 7.30pm.
Residents are invited to bring their picnic chairs and blankets and find a spot on the grass to kick back and sing along to everyone’s favourite Christmas carols.
The carols will be led by Moree and District Band and Moree Community Choir, with special performances by Serendipity Sings, Moree Public School choir, Moree East Public School choir, St Philomena’s School choir, Moree Christian School and Moree Secondary College.
The event will be emceed by Greg Henry, while Michael Allan from the Anglican Church will be giving a Christmas message.
Santa Claus himself will also be taking time out of his busy schedule to hand out treats to the good boys and girls of Moree during the event.
He will be giving his reindeer a rest ahead of their big journey on Christmas Eve and will instead be touching down at Ron Harborne Oval in spectacular style, on a helicopter.
A fireworks display will then conclude the Christmas extravaganza with a bang at 9pm, following the carols.
Residents are reminded to ensure pets are secured due to the noise of the fireworks. People are also asked to bring torches to guide them off the grounds safely at the end of the night.
Christmas at Twilight is sponsored by Moree Plains Shire Council and Moree Christian Churches Network.
Be sure to grab a copy of The Moree Champion on Thursday to get a full lift-out of the song book and don’t forget to bring it along on Friday so you can sing along to all the songs.
