Now in its fourth year, the weekend at the Moree Racecourse aims to raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
“Last year we managed to raise in excess of $25,000,” Moree Race Club secretary Michelle Gobbert said.
The Westpac Rescue Chopper Charity Dinner and Auction is slated for Saturday at 6.30pm.
Tickets cost $110 a head, though a table of 10 can be purchased for a discounted $1,000. Money buys dinner-goers welcome drinks, a meal and the chance to see sports personality Tim Gilbert.
Mr Gilbert works as the sports presenter for the popular Channel Nine talk show, Today.

Ms Gobbert pointed out tickets were still on sale for any late bird buyers. She said the night was not to be missed.
“While [the Westpac Rescue Helicopter] is something you hope you never use, you still want it to be available. A lot of people who have a story where they know someone, either a friend or family member who has had to use the service. All money raised will go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.”
A raffle and auction will also be held on the night, with a range of prizes on offer such as a pamper package at the MAAC Wellness Centre and holiday packages to places like the Hunter Valley.
“There are also tickets to races. One is to the Gold Coast with accommodation provided and also tickets to the Christmas Twilight Races,” Ms Gobbert said.
The second part of the fundraiser weekend will launch at 12pm on Sunday. The Pacific National Moree Cup Day will fall in line with Father’s Day, the perfect excuse to take your family to the races.
Tickets to the Chopper Marquee cost $60 and pays for entry to the marquee and racecourse and food for the afternoon.
General entry admission costs $10 for people aged 18 and above.
Plenty of children’s activities like face painting has also been organised for the day.
Tickets are still available and can either be purchased through www.moreeraceclub.com.au or www.trybooking.com.
