The response was immediate with both NSW fire services, Queensland emergency and rescue services, police and country energy on the scene.
There were at least two fire trucks working to put out the fire.
The local RFS unit and Goondiwindi services assisted in accordance to the cross-border agreement and the fire was brought under control at around 2.50pm.
Structural damage included damage to two rooms, and fire and rescue services continued to mop up well after the blaze was brought under control so that the house could be handed over to the owners at a later date.
Preliminary investigations into the cause of fire have begun and it is believed that a police investigation will follow.
