Children from Year 2 to 9 participated in bible reading, nime, improvisation, duologues, sight reading and a wide variety of poetry sections.
Xavier Drama teacher Nora Carrigan said all those who participated were a credit to their parents, their schools, St Philomena’s and Moree West, and Xavier Drama.
“I am certain each student performed at their personal best,” Mrs Carrigan said.
Many of the Xavier Drama students took out highly commended and first, second and third places.
Mrs Carrigan said her the major prize was to see the children perform in front of a group of strangers.
Courtney Bridge in Year 9 proudly displayed her winning medals for bible reading, set poetry (‘The Snake’ by Vance Palmer) and humorous poetry (‘Kidnapped’ by Shel Silverstein).
Meanwhile, Sid Clements happily received a certificate for reciting ‘Truckie’ by Carmel Randle.
To finish off the Semester the Xavier Drama students will perform after school for the residents of Fairview on Tuesday, June 27 and 28.
