The survey launched online 10 days ago and council have received 110 responses online and 70 responses to onsite survey conducted in Balo Square Shopping Centre on Thursday and Saturday.
MPSC Integrated Planning and Reporting Manager, Libby Carter, said the more people we can get to participate the better understanding we can have of community sentiment about redeveloping the town hall.
“Online there is desire for more recreation but not at a high price point they want it to be accessible in terms of families being able to fund activities for kids,” she said.
“There is lots of discussion of a cinema but people don’t want to be spending $20 a head to go along to these sorts of things. They are not wanting to pay top dollar, we have to find a way to meet that need.”
MPSC Economic Development Officer, Mark Connolly, said quiet a few people have talked to him about what they would appreciate having in Moree.
“It’s a mixed bag. People are torn between wanting more facilities in town and wanting things for kids to do. That’s been common thing, they’ve been vocal about,” he said.
“We want to hear from groups who have used the banquet and function hall to find what they liked and didn’t like.”
MPSC are emphasising the need for people to take the survey, that it’s important to get an opinion from the community at large.
There will be a meeting at the Town Hall on Sunday for the community to attend if they have any questions.
