Member for Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall welcomed the move and said the courses would allow people to pursue a new area of study or expand their existing skill sets during these difficult times.
"Many employees in the hospitality and retail sectors have had their lives turned upside down in the last month, with COVID-19 bringing an abrupt end to stable employment," he said.
"The state government has made it a priority, while the pandemic continues, to do what it can to keep as many people as possible in jobs, or support those currently experiencing unemployment to renter the workforce.
"For some this could mean utilising this period of social distancing to hit the books and learn skills areas like business, computing, social media, administration and writing and personal presentation.
"TAFE NSW's website has the list of all the fee-free courses currently on offer and I urge anyone who may be interested to jump online and see if there is something available which suits them."
The 21 short courses include:
- eMarketing for Small Business;
- Engaging Customers Using Social Media;
- Writing and Presentation Skills;
- Computing Skills;
- Team Leader Skill Set; and
- Administration Skills for Team Leaders.
