"It was a pretty good weekend, actually, considering how things area. We were pretty pleased," Moree Race Club secretary Michelle Gobbert said.
"I think we raised somewhere around just over $28,000 for Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
"That's a combination of the auction items, raffle and our 10 percent cut of the calcutta (from the race day)."
The charity dinner was hosted by the Moree Race Club on Saturday night, with around 100 people attending.
Former Wallabies players Justin Harrison and Tim Horan were the special guests for the evening, sharing plenty of entertaining stories for all those in attendance.
Sunday's Pacific National Moree Cup Race Day followed the charity dinner, attracting a crowd of between 300 and 350 people.
"We were happy with the crowd," Ms Gobbert said.
"You never know really, they do clash with the markets and it's also Father's Day."
Newcastle trainer Kris Lees raked in four wins on the day in the first four races, before local trainer Peter Sinclair took out the Moree Cup, with Upstart finishing first and Free Billy right behind in second place.
Sinclair made it two in a row with I Am Dynamic winning the BM 58 HCP, his horse Happens Nomore also finishing second.
Inverell trainer Shane Edmonds won the Moree Town Plate through Dream of Ascot before Narrabri's Neville McCarthy taking home the Class 1 HCP with Fourth Protocol.
The race day capped off another successful fundraiser and Ms Gobbert wanted to thank all of the businesses and individuals who sponsored or donated items for the auction and raffle.
