Nineteen shoplifters have been dealt with including:
- a 26-year-old local female issued with a Criminal Infringement Notice (CIN) and banned from the store for 12 months
- three juveniles aged between 13 and 17 years issued with warnings under the Young Offenders Act and banned from the store
- a 45-year-old local female issued with a CIN and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 31-year-old local male issued with a CIN
- a 33-year-old local female issued with a CIN and banned from the store
- a 37-year-old local male issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 67-year-old Victorian woman issued with a CIN and banned from all of the victims’ stores nationally
- a 41-year-old local male issued with a CIN and banned from the store
- a 41-year-old local female issued with a CIN and banned from the store
- a 37-year-old local male issued with a CIN and banned from the store
- a 57-year-old local female issued with a CIN and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 36-year-old local male issued with a CIN and banned from the store
- a 36-year-old local female issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 36-year-old local male issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 36-year-old local female issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 36-year-old local male issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice and banned from the store for 12 months
- a 67-year-old local male issued with a CIN
Moree Officer-In-Charge, Inspector Martin Burke said police will continue to target property offenders, including those involved in retail thefts.
“Police have previously instigated covert operations to identify shoplifters with the assistance of Loss Prevention Officers and offenders should expect more of these activities to come in the coming months,” he said.
