Until June 5, shoppers can buy a $2 Gold Appeal ‘virtual hug’ donation card at Coles Moree.
The first donation cards have already made their way to Sydney Children’s Hospital where they are brightening patients’ walls.
Funds raised from the Coles campaign will go towards research, clinical care and equipment to allow children to have the best possible treatment and hospital experience.
Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, is one of Australia’s leading centres in paediatric clinical and research excellence.
Coles state general manager Orlando Rodriguez thanked local shoppers who have shown their support for the campaign so far.
“The ‘virtual hugs’ sold at Coles supermarkets have helped to show patients and families at the Sydney Children’s Hospital that we are thinking of them in their time of need,” he said.
“With two weeks remaining, we encourage the local community to get involved and show its support by purchasing a ‘virtual hug’ card at Coles supermarkets where 100 per cent of the proceeds goes towards the Gold Appeal.”
Every year 69,000 children from New South Wales are treated at Sydney Children’s Hospital.
