Locals are encouraged to nominate friends and family who meet the criteria for individual categories, which include male and female Elder of the Year (Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal), Citizen of the Year (Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal), and Youth of the Year (Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal).
