The popular event sold out in just 20 minutes when tickets went on sale in February.
“We had a waiting list and have opened up a few more tables and done our best to accommodate everybody,” Gwydir Industries president Peter Weal said.
“It is a slightly bigger crowd than last year.”
A total of 340 people will pack into Town Hall to watch this year’s six local couples bust their best moves on the dancefloor.

The crowd will enjoy a delicious three-course meal before the stars take to the stage for the dancing competition.
This year’s judges will be Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall, previous dancer Vanessa Parkes and a mystery celebrity judge who will be revealed on the night.
The judges will give each couple a score out of 10 and at the end of the night the couple with the most points will take out the 2018 judges’ award.
There will also be a people’s choice award given to the couple with the most audience votes.
Audience members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to vote in the people’s choice.
“People can buy as many tickets as they want,” Mr Weal said.
“It does allow a little bribery and corruption to take place.”
The main fundraiser for the night will be the charity auction which will be run by local auctioneer Paul Kelly.
There will also be raffles running throughout the night, with the winner of the Holden Barina Spark to be drawn at the end of the night.
Tickets for the car raffle will be on sale at Gwydir Industries until Saturday.
When the official part of the evening is over, the crowd will be able to dance the night away to Polypipes, led by former Wallabies plaer Tim Gavin.
Mr Weal would like to thank the organising committee for all their hard work.
“The committee organising the night, led by Tricia Siddins, have worked so hard to ensure a fantastic night and to really try to accommodate everyone that wants to come, as well as getting all raffle and auction donors organised,” he said.
“They’ve done an amazing job to make all this happen.”
The event will get underway at Town Hall from 5.30pm on Saturday, March 10.
Couples nervous but excited
While all six local couples are feeling the nerves ahead of their big performances on Saturday night, each are looking forward to the life-changing experience.
“This year is our fifth biennial event and all the ffedback I’ve received from previous dancers is that it is a wonderful experience,” Mr Weal said.
“Some have said it’s changed their lives.
“They all do work really hard to fine-tune their performances.”
This year’s couples are Jordan Barratt and Paige Miller who will be doing a modern jive, Byron Birch and Kendall Tait who will be doing a swing style dance, Donny and Amanda Mealing who will be doing “some form of tango”, Oscar and Susannah Pearse will be doing a country style dance, Mark Cotter and Della Barnes who “won’t be holding hands”, and Greg and Rachel Bell who will be doing a “quick” dance.
