In total, about 130 players from 20 different clubs are expected from as far afield as Quirindi, Merriwa and Aberdeen to contest the competition which comes to town once every five years.
Keen golfers from New Zealand are also expected to make the trip.
Moree ladies golf co-ordinator Liz Gough said it was a good opportunity to showcase Moree to a wider area.
“We’ve got people coming from Goondiwindi, Armidale and Tamworth to join those who travel even further.
“Players love coming to Moree because the course is always in immaculate condition,” she said.
“I would like to commend our greens staff for the job they do keeping the golf course in such excellent condition, at times under very difficult circumstances, especially when we do not get regular rainfall.
“Everyone that I’ve spoken to is looking forward to it again this year.”
Moree has a history of success in the tournament with Tamra Moore winning it on five separate occasions.
The tournament will run across three days from Tuesday, June 3 until Thursday, June 5 with a presentation dinner on the Wednesday night.
The individual open championship section of the tournament will take place on the 3d and 4th with the foursome championship to take place the day after.
“We’d like to thank Toyota for their continued sponsorship and Matt in the pro-shop has been doing a fabulous job as well,” Gough said.
The tournament will be held in Narrabri next year.
