Both the first and the second grades won their home games at the services club; the A-grade with 3-2, the reserves with 4-2.
Moree FC vice-president Alex Madden, who scored two goals for the first grade, said they had not played Guyra before and that it was a tough game.
Madden was pleased they got away with a win.
“We didn’t play our best. We were still a few players short due to the school holidays,” he said.
Which meant they were trying out players in different position and a couple of players were filling in for others.
It was Guyra who scored first, but Moree came back with two goals. Josh O’Neile headed the ball in after a crossing from Pat Ryan and Alex Madden ran through the defence, leaving the Guyra goalie without a chance.
With five minutes to go, Guyra scored 2-2, but a penalty gave Madden the opportunity to settle the score at 3-2.
