Moree and District Cricket Association's 2020-2021 season is set to bat off on Saturday, October 10, and new president Jason Poutawa is hoping to spread the word to encourage new players to step up if they're interested in playing.
"With cricket starting soon, I want to encourage anyone aged over 14-15 who is interested in playing to get in contact," Poutawa said.
"I want to open it up and make it a bit more known, especially for people who've just moved to town and might not know anyone."
So far six teams and about 75 players have registered for the 35-over competition, running until Christmas, which is more than the club has had for the past few years.

Eight teams and about 120 players have registered for the shorter Twenty20 competition, which will run for the second half of the season, beginning in January.
However, if there is anyone who is interested in playing but doesn't have a team, Poutawa encourages them to get in touch and he will help connect them to a team.
"I know teams that struggle for numbers each week," he said.
Meanwhile, as the new president of the club and captain of Moree's rep side, Poutawa said there will be a number of sponsorship opportunities for businesses to get involved in the club.
He's hoping to raise more money to boost the facilities at Ron Harborne Oval, with the club working with Moree Junior Cricket Club to strengthen the lighting so night games can be played.
The junior club has worked to secure funding for two more nets to be built at the oval, and there are also plans to put in a second turf pitch.
"I'd love to put some more money back into cricket," Poutawa said.
Poutawa also encourages anyone who banks with Regional Australia Bank to nominate Moree and District Cricket Association as their community support partner and the bank will donate one per cent of the person's annual balance to the club.
