Hot off the heels of being named Cricket NSW Club of the Year last season, Moree Junior Cricket Club (MJCC) is currently taking registrations for the 2020-2021 season, which will begin on Saturday, October 17 - the first weekend after school resumes for term four.
The club has already received 120 registrations, but with player numbers reaching above 200 over the past few years (last year registrations reached an all-time high with about 220 players), new president Brad Beddoes would love to see that momentum continue this year.
"It's fun," Beddoes said.
"It's a team sport, they can play with their mates and it's for boys and girls.
"It gets them active and they develop all sorts of skills that they can use in years to come."

In the past Moree has had "exceptional" numbers of girls involved in the sport, and Beddoes hope that can also continue this year.
Although general COVID-19 restrictions will apply, there will only be one major change to the upcoming season in relation to COVID - players will need to buy all their own gear.
Usually the club has a kit bag which is shared around, but as a result of COVID-19 health restrictions, each player will need their own kit, including pads, gloves, a helmet and a protector.
Beddoes paid tribute to Moree Junior Rugby Union Club, Moree and District Netball Association and Moree Junior Soccer Club, which paved the way for junior sports to continue in Moree during COVID.
"They were the first ones to work out how to get their product out there in COVID times," he said.
"If those three sports can go ahead, then we all can."
The junior cricket competition will be split into four age divisions:
- Junior Blasters for children aged five and up and those who have never played cricket before, who will run through fun activities and drills each week;
- Master Blasters for children aged from about seven to 10, who will play a game of cricket each week under modified rules
- And two divisions in Junior Cricket, who will be split up based on ability, and will play a game of cricket each week.
Cost to register is $100 per child, which can be covered by Active Kids vouchers.
Registrations are being taken up until Monday, October 12. To register, go to mycricket.cricket.com.au and search for Moree Junior Cricket Club.
