Students started their work experience on Monday, June 24 and are due to complete the two weeks on Friday, July 5.
The students have been introduced to a variety of different jobs ranging from Goodstart Early Learning childcare in Moree to zoo keeping at Taronga Zoo, Sydney.
Moree Secondary College careers adviser, Sheree Cayirylys said that she has received positive feedback from a number of employers.
In some cases, employers were so impressed by the students, they asked them to stay for a second week when they were originally only doing one week with them.
"I appreciate the employers who understand that the students are still young and some are still developing these skills," Mrs Cayirylys said.
The program is not only a great experience but is also crucial for every students' academic development as it provides them with an opportunity to acquire key employability skills as well as knowledge. Some of these skills include communication, teamwork and problem-solving.
One student in particular who has immensely benefited from this experience is Evie Smith who completed work experience at Moree East Public school.
The work experience has helped guide Evie on her career path as she is now considering becoming a teacher after school.
"I really thought I wouldn't like it there because I'm not a kid-person," she said.
"However, I really enjoyed my week and am now definitely considering primary school teaching."
It is safe to say there is a great future in the workplace for these bright, young minds.
Mrs Cayirylys and the students would like to thank all of the employers for their time and dedication. The students have learnt so much over the past two weeks whilst enjoying themselves, thanks to these generous employers: Goodstart Early Learning, Thomas Lee Motorcycles, Target, Chesterfield, B&W Rural, Moree Plains Shire Council (IT and Big Sky Library), Taronga Zoo Sydney, UNSW Civil and Environmental Engineering, Cole and Butler Solicitors, Kenway and Clark, Moree Secondary College, Impressions Hair Studio, Tyre Power, Fairview, Moree East Public School, PCYC, Subway, Pius X Aboriginal Corporation (pre-school and administration), Andrew McManus Engineering, Dippers, DD's Engineering, Irritek, O'Neill Concreting, Moree Security, Moree Court House, DieselGas Moree, McArthur parc, Gravesend Public School, The Moree Champion, Marchant's Haulage, Beauty Matters, DEFT Hair, Brookedale, and Bullarah Public School.
