The whole school participated in their annual nut pick at Trawalla on Friday, July 27, during which they enjoyed filling bags and buckets with pecans.
Pallamallawa Public School teacher Sharyn Pidgeon said the children love it.
“The kids are happy and enjoy it, they all have a good time,” she said.
“They get so much enjoyment out of it and are always so engaged.”

Once the picking was done, the students were “let loose” among the trees where they were able to run around and collect any nuts that the harvesters may have missed.
They were also treated to a barbecue lunch.
Pallamallawa and Gravesend schools have been coming along to do a nut pick for about 10 years or more.
Trawalla farm production manager Dave Reibel estimates the students would pick “a couple of hundred kilos” during the day’s efforts.
In return, the students each get to take home a bag of pecans and both schools receive a donation from Stahmann Farms.
“To pay them for their labour,” Mr Reibel joked.
Ms Pidgeon said the school very much appreciates the gesture.
Gravesend students had their nut picking day about a month ago.
