Whilst police are doing all that is possible, public cooperation is often vital in identifying offenders. Look out for your neighbours and be extra aware of what is happening in your area.
“If you see people within private, school or business grounds that looks suspicious or outside of normal hours then call us immediately,” Detective Inspector Joy said.
“Don’t wait to be asked if you’ve seen something – if you witness suspicious looking activity, hear smashing glass or alarms sounding … report it immediately – put yourself in your neighbour’s shoes and ask yourself what you hope someone would do for you.
“There are people in our community who are aware of who are committing these crimes and they need to come forward, either in person or anonymously.”
Anyone with information that may assist police in relation to criminal activity and wanted persons are encouraged to contact their local Police Station or report information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au (callers may be eligible for a rewards).
