“These two dedicated weeks are very important to our school community. Co-celebrating these significant weeks is an easy fit,” principal Karen Jagers said.
St Philomena’s dedicated Monday to introducing Catholic Schools Week and Reconciliation Week through the celebration of liturgy.
Further activities during the week have included attendance at the official opening of the Dhiiyaan Centre, celebrating Catholic Schools Week in Armidale with other diocesan schools, assisting in the plaque laying ceremony naming unmarked indigenous graves, St Vincent de Paul secondary student members helping with the set up for the Gala Awards Night and staff and student volunteers as kitchen assistants on Friday Night during the awards.
A sausage sizzle lunch on Monday for students and parents was a great way to celebrate together as a community.
Words of principal Karen Jagers.
