Moree Public School has jumped on the band wagon and joined in Reconciliation Week celebrations as the local school held a morning tea for parents, teachers and members of the Aboriginal community today.

“The school is providing an opportunity for Elders, teachers and students to meet and talk to each other. Moree Public School is happy to join Moree in the celebrations and to also help drive discussion in the community,” principal Adrian King said.
Moree is two days in to Reconciliation Week celebrations after its official opening of the week at the Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre on Monday.

The theme for this year’s nation-wide celebration is, ‘Don’t keep history a mystery.’
Around 30 people showed at the hall at Moree Public School to enjoy cake, sandwiches and hot drinks.
“It’s an informal morning tea. The Elders will get a chance to visit the classrooms afterwards, to see what the students are doing. If they want to, they can also give a talk to the students,” Mr King said.
