Coles Moree is currently running the program in store, allowing shoppers to support any of the 15 schools registered – St Philomena’s School, Moree Christian School, Moree Public School, Moree East Public School, Pallamallawa Public School, Garah Public School, Gravesend Public School, Mallawa Public School, Rowena Public School, Bullarah Public School, Croppa Creek Public School, Collarenebri Central School, Hebel State School, Enngonia Public School, and Eulo State School.
For every $10 spent in store, customers will receive one ‘Sports for Schools’ voucher which can be placed in the collection bins provided at Coles.
At the conclusion of the program, schools can exchange those vouchers for sporting equipment to encourage all kids to get healthy and active at school.
The more vouchers a school receives, the more gear they can receive.
Coles Moree assistant manager James Powlton encourages customers to get shopping for their schools.
“We encourage people who earn vouchers and don’t have an affiliated school to donate them anyway instead of wasting them,” he said.
Coles managing director John Durkan said that more than $20 million worth of sports gear had been supplied to more than 7,500 schools across Australia since the Schools for Sports program began in 2010.
“Our customers love sport and we want to see their families have every opportunity to participate in sports themselves,” he said.
The program began on February 7 and will continue until April 3.
