Police will allege that the offenders, males and females aged between 20 and 41, were among more than a hundred people participating in street brawls over the festive period.
Officers were first called to a public order incident in Grace Street shortly after 11pm on Christmas evening (Monday, December 25).
Police will allege more than a hundred people were gathered in the street throwing projectiles at persons and vehicles including police.
Around 7.30am Boxing Day (Tuesday, December 26) police were called to the intersection of Edward and Cooee streets where a number of persons were fighting.
One officer was assaulted during the incident but suffered only minor injuries.
A 21-year-old female was arrested and charged during an affray in Tycannah Street around 3.40pm Tuesday, December 26 after she allegedly assaulted a police officer at the scene. The officer sustained a minor facial injury during the incident.
Aroung 5.30pm that day police were again called to Edward Street where increasing numbers of people were congregating.
Officers were forced to use Oleoresin Capsicum to disperse the crowd.

Around 11am on Thursday, December 28 officers attached to Barwon Local Area Command attended a Dingwall Place residence where a 19-year-old male was arrested for his alleged involvement in the Grace Street incident. Bail was refused by police.
Enquiries are also continuing into the driver of a car that is alleged to have travelled at speed in Grace Street during the incident. Anyone with information as to the driver of the vehicle is urged to contact local detectives.

Barwon Local Area Commander, Acting Superintendent Scott Tanner said Barwon police are currently involved in high-visibility policing operations launched in response to community concerns about property, alcohol-related crime and street offences.
“The arrests are a timely reminder that people should be mindful of their alcohol consumption and how their behaviour impacts on those around them,” he said.
“Local police have little tolerance for anti-social behaviour and those intent on acting this way should expect to be served with the full extent of the law.
“Police regularly witness the results of persons drinking beyond excess and losing control of their faculties which greatly increases the risk of being involved in serious incidents such as anti social behaviour, malicious damage to property, assault, including sexual assault and fatal motor vehicle accidents.”
