Detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad have charged a man after he allegedly groomed a child online.

The Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) conducts ongoing investigations into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children online under Strike Force Trawler.
In June, strike force officers began engaging online with a man from the state’s north-west.
Police will allege in court the man believed he was speaking to a 14-year-old girl and engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the child.
Following extensive investigations, strike force officers arrested a 29-year-old man at Moree Police Station just before 10am on Wednesday, August 30.
Shortly after the arrest, strike force officers executed a search warrant at a nearby home, and seized a number of items for forensic examination.
The man was taken to Moree Police Station and charged with use carriage service to groom persons under 16 for sexual activity.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Moree Local Court on Monday, October 9.
Inquiries are continuing.
The police are continuing Strike Force Trawler, their ongoing investigation into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
