The Under 8s entered one teams and played three games all together.
“We had one win out of the three games with two narrow losses.
“They all played very well together and worked very well together,” coach Scott Rogers said after the games.
Thomas O’Shea had a great day scoring three tries. Josh Slacksmith, Jack Rogers and Alex Warby also had very strong games.
The U10s entered one team playing three games.
They won all games on the day with all players performing exceptionally well.
The first win was against Inverell 7-2.
This was a great result as Inverell have been a very hard opponent all year.
The second game saw Moree come out victors Walcha 8-2 and the last game against Armidale saw Moree win 8-2.
“These young men played with great commitment and conviction.
The forwards worked well all day and there were many great back line movements.
“All players did what was asked and had a fantastic carnival,” coach Craig Warby said.
Special mention must go to the returning Flynn Kirkby after eight weeks off with a broken arm.
Warby also mentioned Darcy Brazel, Billy Barwick, Harry George and Harry Barwick as standouts on the day.
The under 6s had a skills day two of the NSW Rugby Development Officers.
They had a game at the end which all the kids enjoyed.
“We have had a very successful year in the junior rugby.
Our teams have performed well all year and continue to improve every week.
The last carnival of the season is this coming weekend with Armidale hosting the day.
Although conditions may be a little cold, the junior players are keen to show off their skills.
We hope to finish the season on a high in Armidale this weekend,” President Chris Lamey said.
