Not only did clients, friends and family enjoy the day of festivities, Santa himself made an early visit to Moree.
Community care client support coordinator Byron Phillips said the annual luncheon was catered by the Meals on Wheels department and tasted delicious.
“It’s always a nice way for clients, friends and family to get together and just catch up. They play bingo and we have a few lucky door prizes to give out,” he said.
The room was decorated floor to ceiling with Christmas items and staff rocked santa and elf hats.
There was a Christmas tree with some special presents underneath and a huge chair for Santa to sit in after arriving from the airport.
“We do hold themed luncheons regularly; there will be a beach theme in October and we’ve already held a Wild West event it’s always fun,” he said.
Mr Phillips said sitting down, enjoying a meal brought a special atmosphere to the Christmas in July luncheon.
“If clients aren’t in respite regularly they barely get to catch up with one another, unless they see each other briefly down the street so its always nice to come together and share a meal,” he said.
Everyone had a wonderful time.
