Moree Plains Shire saw crime incidents stabilise across most of the 17 major categories in 2016, according to the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research.
There were 33 more break-and-enters to houses in the Moree shire in 2016, compared with 2015, with 279 incidents.
Police were called to 136 break-ins to businesses – two more than the previous year, while thefts from houses were on par with 2015 figures.
Car thefts jumped from 65 to 82 incidents in 2016, and thefts from cars also rose from 145 to 188.
There were 53 more reports of malicious damage to property, but stealings from persons fell from 15 to seven.
Domestic violence-related assaults, sexual and indecent assaults, assaults, robberies and shoplifting rates in Moree in 2016 were on par with the previous year’s figures.
