The day was an outstanding success, with a crowd of 400 guests raising over $50,000 for Fairview, organiser Joy Peachey said.
“Entertainment for the day was ‘The Singing Waiters’ who captivated the crowd, many of whom were eager to keep the tenors performing,” Mrs Peachey said.
“Generous offers from John and Kay Gillan and Matthew and Jenny Durack brought several more songs and later, the hat was passed around, which collected over $2000,” she said.
Stahmann Farms hosts the function every two years and Mrs Peachey said they were incredibly generous with their support leading up to the day.
The overwhelming generosity of Moree business houses was praised with more than $30,000 worth of goods being donated for the auction, conducted in lively fashion by Andrew Pitman.
“Myself and the Fairview Board of Management wish to extend a special thank you to all the volunteers who assisted in organising the event, and the sponsors who make the day possible,” Mrs Peachey said.
“Thanks of the Fairview family are extended to all the wonderful people of Moree who attended the luncheon and so generously supported the auction and the raffle.
“Your community retirement home is most grateful,” she said.
