He undertook a demanding flight test under hot, gusty weather conditions, moderate turbulence and considerable air traffic.
Chief flying instructor Fred Nolan advised that the flight conditions were very demanding overall but Chris coped with them well.
“Flying on a bad day really tests you out and Chris will enjoy his next flight on a nice day,” Fred said.
Chris now plans to extend his pilot training to achieve his General Aviation Private Pilot Licence, which enables him to fly larger capacity and more sophisticated aircraft.
Chris is the son of well known local identities George and Tina Clyne of “Culloden” Moree and began his initial flight training in December 2013.
He flew the Jabiru J170C aircraft solo on August 25, 2014, a moment every student will never forget, Fred advised.
Meanwhile, Moree diesel mechanic Paul Rowe completed his intensive Air Navigation Training course on February 15, to qualify for his Recreational Aviation Australia Cross Country endorsement.
Chief flying instructor Fred Nolan said Paul completed his first navigation flight in command and that he departed Moree in the Jabiru J170C aircraft for Narrabri, Coonabarabran, Coonamble and Lightning Ridge, landing at Coonamble and the ‘Ridge enroute.
Paul struck strong head winds on most sectors and had to cope with hot and gusty wind conditions landing at Coonamble and Lightning Ridge, Fred advised.
Paul will utilise his pilot licence in his diesel engine maintenance business.
