Charlton Brown is Brisbane’s leading community care training college and the graduation ceremony was held at the Parliamentary Annexe in Brisbane CBD, celebrating the successes of the 2013 graduating students.
Charlton Brown is an internationally registered training organisation specialising in aged care, home and community care, child care, youth work, justice studies and disability care, situated in Fortitude Valley.
Charlton Brown is also a carer placement agency for community service carers.
Childcare trainer and assessor with Charlton Brown Teresa Thoms said Ms Burey, who studied a Certificate III in Children’s Services and is a boarder at St Hilda’s School in Southport, was a hard-working, committed student who excelled at working with children.
“She worked hard to complete her traineeship in just one year and is hoping to study a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care once she has finished school,” Ms Thoms said.
Charlton Brown students graduated from a variety of disciplines, including child care, aged care, disability care, youth work, justice studies and community services.
The graduation ceremony was attended by a number of influential Brisbane figures, including Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, the Hon Teresa Gambaro MP and the Hon Saxon Rice, Assistant Minister for Technical and Further Education.
Members of the Queensland training community, including the State Director for Austrade were also in attendance.
