Moree residents woke up to a damp and humid morning on Tuesday after a thunderstorm brought close to 10 millimetres of rain on Monday night.

Severe thunderstorms were expected to hit parts of NSW on Monday evening, and while Moree didn't cop the worst of the wild weather, the town experienced the edge of Monday's storms.
Earlier in the day on Monday Moree received a small shower, with 0.8mm of rain recorded at Moree Aero between 12.30m and 1pm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Thunder and lightning then began at about 7pm, bringing the rain at about 8.30pm as the wind picked up.
Wind gusts reached 69 kilometres per hour at 8.39pm, with steady rain falling until about 10.30pm.
A total of 9.8mm of rain was recorded at Moree Aero during the storm, which comes off the back of 1mm of rainfall on Sunday morning and another 0.4mm which fell that afternoon.
While the rest of the week is expected to clear up, a cold front is moving through following the rain.
The temperature is expected to drop to a low of 9 degrees overnight on Tuesday, with Wednesday to reach a top of 26, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Thursday will be cooler still, with a low of 8, warming up to a sunny 23 degrees, while Friday will be a warmer 27 but minimum temperatures are expected to drop to 6 degrees.
The weekend will be even cooler, with a low of 4 degrees expected on Saturday and a top temperature of only 19, while Sunday is predicted to get to 20 degrees. Both days are expected to be sunny.
