The bulky waste collection provides residents with a free and easy way to dispose of large items, which would normally require a trip to the waste management facility.
The service enables households within the shire to dispose of unwanted bulky goods such as mattresses, furniture, e-waste and white goods, as well as oversized garden prunings, scrap metal and wood.
Waste must be separated into four piles - large items (including mattresses, rugs and furniture), general household waste (toys, clothing, shoes, and timber), green waste (including garden prunings, loose vegetation and storm waste) and metals, white goods and e-waste (including electronic items, washing machines, and fencing).
Each registered household is allowed to place up to three cubic metres of waste on their curb prior to their designated collection week.
Collection will begin on Monday, August 3 for households in the Moree township and surrounding areas including Gurley, Gwydirville and Bendygleet. These residents must register for the service by 4pm on Friday, July 31.
For the villages of Ashley, Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Garah, Mungindi, Pallamallawa, Vitonga Road, Weemelah and Yarraman, the collection will start from Monday, August 10. These residents must register by 4pm on Friday, August 7.
For registered addresses, waste must be put out for collection by the Sunday evening prior to collection week.
Waste that does not meet the above requirements will be treated as illegal dumping and you may be issued an infringement notice. Items placed on the kerb without registration will not be collected.
Each household must register for the collection by calling the Waste Hotline 1300 736 719 or booking through http://moreeplainsshire.cleanaway.com.au/collection-calendar/.
