A man has been charged with numerous driving offences, following a fiery police pursuit in Moree on Thursday.

The vehicle he was driving ignited in flames and lost a tyre during the police pursuit, which began in town and ended on the Newell Highway.
Officers attached to the New England Police District stopped the silver Mitsubishi Lancer sedan on Anne Street Moree for a random breath test at about 10.20am on Thursday, July 16.
As police approached the vehicle, it is alleged the driver accelerated harshly away from the location.
Police initiated a pursuit within the Moree township, during which the vehicle is alleged to have reached speeds in excess of 120km/h, before losing control at the intersection of Frome and Anne streets.

The pursuit continued through several more residential streets and north on the Newell Highway when the vehicle caught fire and lost a front tire while travelling in the southbound lane.
Moree Proactive Crime Team officers, with the assistance of detectives, Rural Crime Investigators, General Duty officers and Highway Patrol Command, apprehended the driver and passenger after a short foot pursuit from the vehicle.
The pair were arrested and taken to Moree Police Station.
The driver, a man aged 23, was charged with numerous offences including five outstanding warrants, driving with expired licence, police pursuit, dangerous driving, possession of a prohibited drug and breaching a Domestic Apprehended Violence Order.
He was bail refused to appear before Moree Local Court on Friday, July 17.
The passenger, a man aged 30, was charged with possessing a prohibited drug.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear before Moree Local Court on Monday, August 24.
