The 11-year-old Moree Amateur Swimming Club member has now earned a spot in the NSW team to compete at the School Sports Australia Swimming Championships in Melbourne in July where she will race against some of the best primary school aged swimmers in the country.
It's been a successful year for the young swimmer after already winning a gold and silver medal at the NSW Country Championships in February.
"She had a good season last year and she's had an even better one this year," coach Angela Walker said.
Macey trains five mornings a week and Walker was thrilled to see her selected to take part in the NSW team for the first time.
Only the top three swimmers in each event make it through to the School Sports Australia Swimming Championships, a remarkable achievement for Macey.
"I'm very proud as a coach, we've put a lot of hard work into her," Walker said.
"She got a gold medal at country and also at Polding (a Catholic schools competition). She got the gold at Polding last year as well.
"She's gone one step further this year in getting a medal at PSSA."
