The 11-year-old Moree Amateur Swimming Club member managed to beat some of the best young swimmers from all over the state to claim gold in the 11 years girls 50 metre breaststroke event.
She also came away with a silver medal after coming second in the 11 years girls 100m breaststroke event, missing out on the gold by just 0.03 seconds. Ava also recorded a personal best in this race.
This follows on from her success at the Country Championships last year, during which she claimed gold in the 100m breaststroke.
Ava was one of three Moree swimmers to compete at the Country Championships, held from February 22 to 24 at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.
Her brother Alex Macey recorded three personal bests among his four races - the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
He knocked a significant chunk of time off his personal best in the 50m freestyle event, and recorded PBs in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, in which he placed fourth and eighth in the 14 years events, respectively.
Meanwhile, fellow swimmer Harry George cracked the 30 second barrier with a time of 29.85 seconds during the 12 years 50m freestyle event. Although he placed 14th in the race, he was the third 11-year-old to finish.
He also recorded a 0.80 second personal best in the 100m freestyle, placing fourth in the 11 years boys event.
Swimming coach Angela Walker was proud of the results of all three swimmers, and said their results reflect their hard work in the pool.
"The three prepared really well; they've been training really hard and the results are showing," she said.
They are now preparing for their school representative competitions which are coming up over the next few months.
"That's our focus at the moment," Walker said.
"With a bit more hard work before those competitions, hopefully they'll get faster and improve on their times even more.
"Results come when you work hard."
