When Sean Taylor, Director of Professionals in Inverell, isn’t selling real estate, he is captivated by the spoils of the earth. And it’s his fascination with pure and wholesome ingredients and the bucolic lifestyle that gave rise to the Eat Drink Live New England festival taking place at the Inverell Club on Friday and Saturday.

For the last three years, the event has showcased regional food, drink and wellness and this year is no exception. But Mr Taylor’s initiation into Epicureanism began in childhood before fast and processed food became so commonplace.
“The situation changed even before I was born. Fifty, sixty, seventy, a hundred years ago, the town had breweries, bakeries and things were made locally,” says Mr Taylor with a tinge of nostalgia in his voice. “People had a real connection with their food.”

It’s this mindfulness of what we eat that Mr Taylor wants to bring back. “My motivation was to help raise awareness of what is produced in our region and to use great ingredients,” he says.
As a keen hobby chef, bon viveur and foodie, Mr Taylor was inspired by events such as Seasons of New England in Uralla, Taste of Tamworth and Moree on a Plate. He put the idea to the Inverell Club and it was welcomed.
